KARACHI: The Diamond Jubilee celebrations commemorating 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China unfolded with significant pledges to bolster the strategic partnership between the two nations. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah spearheaded the event, highlighting the enduring bond and future cooperation prospects.
According to Chief Minister Sindh, the event, held at the historic Mohatta Palace, gathered an array of diplomats, government officials, business leaders, and Chinese investors, among others, to honor the longstanding friendship marked by mutual trust and strategic collaboration. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, serving as the chief guest, emphasized the symbolic nature of the Pakistan-China relationship, describing it as an “iron brotherhood” and committing to elevate the partnership, particularly through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah echoed these sentiments, affirming Sindh’s readiness to play a pivotal role in advancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, in a video message, reinforced the strength of the relationship, noting the significant economic benefits brought by CPEC and envisioning further growth under CPEC 2.0. The ambassador expressed confidence in Sindh’s potential to benefit from upcoming projects, underscoring the importance of continued collaboration between the two countries. The ceremony concluded with cultural presentations, celebrating the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China.
