ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Uzbekistan have reached an agreement to strengthen cooperation in the railway sector, with the aim of improving regional connectivity. This development emerged from a meeting held in Islamabad between Pakistan’s Minister for Railways, Hanif Abbasi, and Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev.
According to Radio Pakistan, Minister Abbasi emphasized the significance of the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan Railway Corridor, describing it as a crucial project for fostering regional trade, economic integration, and connectivity. Ambassador Tukhtaev expressed Uzbekistan’s strong interest in expanding its collaboration with Pakistan not only in the railway sector but also in other areas of mutual concern.
The discussions underscore a mutual commitment to developing infrastructure that could enhance economic ties and facilitate trade routes across the region. As both countries look to the future, this agreement marks a significant step towards bolstering regional cooperation and connectivity.
