Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan is set to host a delegation from the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Türkiye from April 6 to 9, 2026, marking a significant step in judicial cooperation between the two nations. The visit’s main event will be the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on April 6, which aims to establish a collaborative framework focusing on judicial exchange, capacity building, and the sharing of best practices.
According to Press Information Department, this initiative underscores the shared commitment of Pakistan and Türkiye to bolster constitutional governance, uphold the rule of law, and reinforce judicial independence. A key aspect of the cooperation will involve professional development for the judiciary, particularly at the district level, through joint training programs and academic exchanges.
The MoU includes the formation of a Joint Working Group to ensure continued engagement and effective implementation of the agreed areas of cooperation. The delegation’s visit will also feature high-level discussions on contemporary challenges in adjudication and judicial administration, as well as visits to cultural sites like Taxila and the Walled City of Lahore.
The signing ceremony will be broadcast live, witnessed by notable figures including the Chief Justices of the High Courts, the Federal Minister for Law and Justice, and representatives from the legal fraternity. This event forms part of the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s broader efforts to enhance the justice system’s efficiency and public trust.
