Pakistan and Turkiye Commit to Strengthening Defense Ties


Islamabad: Pakistan and Turkiye have pledged to enhance collaboration in defense, focusing on aerospace innovation and emerging technologies.



According to Radio Pakistan, this commitment was articulated during high-level meetings held by Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu during his official visit to Turkiye. Air Chief Marshal Sidhu met with notable figures, including General Ziya Cemal Kadioglu, Commander of the Turkish Air Force, Turkish Minister of National Defence Yasar Guler, and Selcuk Bayraktar, Chief Technology Officer at Baykar Technologies.



Discussions during the meetings centered on increasing interoperability through joint exercises, training programs, and professional exchanges. Turkish Air Chief General Kadioglu expressed appreciation for the Pakistan Air Force’s role in training Turkish pilots. Furthermore, in a meeting with Defence Minister Guler, both parties reaffirmed the strong historical and strategic ties between the two nations and explored further cooperation in training, capacity building, and aerospace collaboration.



In a separate meeting with Bayraktar, Chief of the Air Staff Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu focused on advancements in aerospace innovation, unmanned aerial systems, and emerging technologies. This reflects the mutual vision of both sides to pursue collaboration in next-generation defense technologies.
