Pakistan and Qatar Strengthen Labor Collaboration, Discuss Workforce Migration and Visa Centers


Doha, In a key development to enhance labor relations between Pakistan and Qatar, Mr. Jawad Sohrab Malik, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistani and Human Resource Development, met with Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri, Qatar’s Minister of Labour, during his inaugural official visit to Qatar. The meeting focused on fostering a collaborative environment for the safe and legal migration of the Pakistani workforce to Qatar, as well as the opening of more Qatar Visa Centers (QVCs) in Pakistan.



According to Press Information Department, SAPM Malik provided an overview of the Government of Pakistan’s efforts to enhance labor skills to meet the demands and standards of the Qatari labor market. The discussion with Qatar’s Labor Minister, Dr. Al Marri, highlighted a mutual commitment to ensuring the welfare and prosperity of the Pakistani workforce in Qatar. Both leaders pledged to support the secure and lawful movement of workers, contributing to Qatar’s dynamic labor market.



The meeting also involved discussions on the opening of additional QVCs in Pakistan to facilitate the migration process for the Pakistani workforce. As part of his visit, SAPM Malik is scheduled to engage with Qatari conglomerates to explore and sign agreements aimed at providing and enhancing employment opportunities for Pakistani workers. These agreements are expected to significantly contribute to the mutual economic growth and cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar.



Accompanying SAPM Malik in the meeting were Mr. Muhemmed Aejaz, Pakistan’s Ambassador in Qatar, and Community Welfare Attachés (CWAs). The visit of the SAPM to Qatar is intended to strengthen ties, enhance collaboration, and create more opportunities for the Pakistani workforce in the State of Qatar.
