Islamabad: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, accompanied by Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi, completed a day-long visit to Iran in an effort to advance regional peace and stability. The visit served as part of Pakistan’s diplomatic initiative to address the ongoing US-Iran conflict and explore avenues for a sustainable resolution.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Pakistani delegation met with key Iranian leaders, including President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, Representative of the Supreme Leader on the Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei, Speaker of the Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, and Minister of Interior Eskandar Momeni. Discussions centered on preventing further escalation, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and bringing the conflict to an expedited conclusion.

Both parties exchanged views on achieving regional peace through negotiation and settlement of disputes. The Iranian leadership acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts to facilitate dialogue and de-escalation, appreciating its constructive role in seeking a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict.
