Islamabad, 12 Oct 2023:A productive meeting between the Ethiopian Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Jemal Beker, and the Federal Education Minister, Mr. Madad Ali Sindhi, unfolded today, laying down prospective paths towards heightened cooperation between Pakistan and Ethiopia, especially in the realms of Vocational and Technical Training. PID, the source of the press release, revealed that the discussions aimed at establishing a Joint Working Group, which may further lead to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two nations, thereby facilitating an exchange of expertise, teachers, and students to foster skill development through vocational training.

Historical, religious, and cultural ties, as well as mutual goodwill and respect between the nations, underscored the dialogue. The Federal Minister conveyed appreciation for Ethiopian doctors who volunteered in Pakistan during the 2022 floods and acknowledged the opportunity embedded in vocational training to empower populations with employment capabilities. An invitation extended by Mr. Beker to Mr. Sindhi aims to solidify plans through an MoU signing in Ethiopia in the near future.
