Pakistan and Canada Strengthen Ties in Energy and Climate Change Initiatives


Islamabad, Pakistan and Canada have pledged to strengthen their collaboration on energy and climate change, marking a commitment to jointly tackle pressing environmental challenges.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the agreement was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Minister for Economic Affairs, Ahad Khan Cheema, and the Canadian High Commissioner, Leslie Scanlon, in Islamabad today. The discussions highlighted the sectors of mutual interest, especially focusing on energy initiatives as a core priority for Pakistan.



Minister Cheema lauded Canada for its assistance during Pakistan’s 2022 flood crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, appreciating the ongoing support from High Commissioner Scanlon and her team. This meeting underscores a shared commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and addressing global issues such as climate change through cooperative efforts.
