New York: Pakistan and Austria have exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the situation in the Middle East. This occurred during a meeting between Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, and Beate Meinl-Reisinger, the Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria, on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly.

According to Radio Pakistan, both sides expressed satisfaction with the trajectory of Pakistan-Austria bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, economic relations, education, and people-to-people ties. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful resolution of disputes, in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter and international law. He also highlighted the necessity for the full implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding by all parties involved.

Austrian Foreign Minister Meinl-Reisinger appreciated Pakistan’s role in promoting regional stability and emphasized the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement in addressing regional and global challenges. Both parties agreed to maintain close engagement on matters of mutual interest.
