New York: A representative from Abbott’s Pharmaceuticals Division held a meeting with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in New York to discuss Pakistan’s Hepatitis C elimination program and broader issues affecting the pharmaceutical sector.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Finance Minister expressed concerns over the slow progress of the Hepatitis C program, highlighting that only about one hundred thousand of the nearly three million procured diagnostic tests had been used. This shortfall was attributed to leadership turnover, inadequate project management, and limited public awareness. The Finance Minister emphasized the need to accelerate the program’s implementation to improve its effectiveness.
