ISLAMABAD: Over 7,000 police officers will be deployed in Islamabad to ensure security during Eid-ul-Adha, according to a comprehensive plan finalized by city authorities. The plan, discussed in a high-level meeting led by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aims to coordinate traffic and security arrangements across the federal capital.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting saw participation from senior officers from all divisions of Islamabad Police, who reviewed security, operational strategies, and traffic management plans. The finalized plan involves deploying officers at key locations, including Eid congregations, mosques, commercial centers, and other public areas. The strategy also includes coordinated patrolling, supervised by SDPOs and SHOs, with zonal SPs monitoring arrangements in their respective areas.
Specialized units like the Dolphin Force will conduct continuous patrolling, and additional personnel will be stationed at sensitive locations. The bomb disposal squad will undertake search operations to ensure public safety. Enhanced security measures and a comprehensive traffic management plan will facilitate smooth traffic flow and prevent illegal parking around sensitive sites. Police services will remain operational during Eid, with a focus on efficient and exemplary duty performance.
