Islamabad, 12 Oct 2023:A high-level delegation led by the OIC Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Jammu and Kashmir, H.E. Yousef M. Al Dobeay, met with Ms. Mushaal Hussain Mullick, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Human Rights and Women Empowerment, solidifying a discourse that resonated with enduring support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, according to a press release issued by PID. During the meeting, Ms. Mullick expressed gratitude towards the OIC for its unswerving support, particularly post-India’s actions on 5 August 2019, and extolled the OIC’s continuous advocacy for the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
She briefed the Special Envoy about the escalating human rights violations in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing the incarceration of political leaders, including Yasin Malik, and urged the OIC to mobilize international community support for the protection of fundamental human rights of the Kashmiri people.
Ambassador Al Dobeay, in return, reassured the unwavering commitment of the OIC towards the Kashmir cause, stating that his visit to Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir was an explicit expression of that commitment. He underscored OIC’s consistent support for the rights of the Kashmiri people, including the right to self-determination in alignment with the UN Security Council Resolutions, and assured that all OIC bodies will persist in extending support and assistance to the Kashmiri people.
