Islamabad: The 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women continued for the second day in Islamabad, focusing on the socio-economic development of women across member states. The conference, aimed at fostering cooperation among Islamic countries, has brought together delegates to discuss and promote strategies for women’s advancement.
According to Radio Pakistan, the conference’s first day involved various technical sessions where the agenda was approved, and progress on the OIC Plan of Action for the Advancement of Women was reviewed. On the sidelines, Minister for Law and Human Rights Azam Nazeer Tarar engaged in discussions with ministers and senior officials from Iran, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Syria, Somalia, and Yemen. These meetings also included representatives from women development organizations and the OIC Labour Centre, emphasizing collaboration on women’s socio-economic issues.
