ISLAMABAD: In a recent operation aimed at curbing criminal activity, the Islamabad Police have arrested 22 individuals and seized a significant amount of drugs and weapons. According to Islamabad Capital Police, teams detained 18 people connected to various criminal activities, confiscating 1,020 grams of hashish, 1,028 grams of ice, a Kalashnikov, and eight pistols with ammunition. Legal cases have been filed against the suspects, and inquiries are ongoing.
Additionally, the police, under a special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders, apprehended eight more criminals. The initiative is part of a broader effort led by Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aiming to maintain order and security in the federal capital.
Suleman Zafar, SSP Security Operations Islamabad, emphasized the force’s dedication to safeguarding citizens’ lives and properties, asserting that any threats to public peace will not be tolerated. The police urge residents to report any suspicious activities via the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline to bolster cooperative efforts against crime.
