ISLAMABAD: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, Espen Barth Eide, met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House to discuss bilateral relations between the two nations. The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the existing ties between Pakistan and Norway and highlighted areas of cooperation such as education, skilled labor, climate resilience, and technology. He also extended an invitation to Norwegian companies to invest in Pakistan’s oil and gas sector.

According to Press Information Department, the Prime Minister appreciated Norway’s support for Palestine and its backing of Pakistan’s peace efforts in the Gulf region. The Norwegian Foreign Minister, in turn, conveyed greetings from Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and acknowledged Pakistan’s role in regional peace initiatives. He emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral ties and recognized the contributions of the Pakistani diaspora in Norway.

The meeting was attended by senior Federal Ministers, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Minister for Climate Change Dr. Musadik Malik, Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain, SAPM Tariq Fatemi, and other officials. An invitation was extended to the Norwegian Prime Minister to visit Pakistan officially.
