Islamabad: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has stated that no roads have been blocked in Islamabad, countering reports that suggested otherwise. Containers have been placed only as a precautionary measure, aligning with the Islamabad High Court’s directives.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Ministry’s Fact Check emphasized that these measures are intended to protect citizens’ lives, property, and lawful movement. The precautions are designed to secure public infrastructure and sensitive sites, considering the history of violent incidents by certain groups.
The Ministry criticized Al Jazeera for what it described as selective reporting by labeling these preventive measures as “road blockades.” It argued that such reporting ignores the broader judicial and security context and misleads the public by creating a negative impression. The Ministry maintained that Al Jazeera’s portrayal cannot replace the facts surrounding the State’s responsibility to maintain public order.
