Islamabad: The Pakistan Navy’s operational readiness and strategic priorities were the focal points of a high-level Command and Staff Conference held in Islamabad. Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf emphasized the importance of preparedness and capacity to address various maritime threats, underscoring the need for advanced technological capabilities and joint coordination.
According to Radio Pakistan, the conference, chaired by Admiral Ashraf, involved extensive deliberations on the evolving maritime security landscape, including traditional and non-traditional threats, strategic chokepoints, and risks to vital Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs). The forum served as a platform for the Chief of Naval Staff, along with Principal Staff Officers and Field Commanders, to review operational preparedness and strategic initiatives.
Admiral Ashraf commended the Navy’s current state of readiness and advocated for effective training and tactical discipline to maintain robust maritime defense. He highlighted the importance of developing asymmetric capabilities and adopting advanced technologies to retain a tactical edge against emerging threats. Furthermore, he reiterated the Navy’s essential role in promoting peace, stability, and security in the region.
