Karachi: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has inaugurated a series of rehabilitation and development projects in Gulistan-e-Johar, carried out by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC). The projects, which include the installation of paver blocks, were completed at a cost of Rs. 145 million, covering an area of 271,000 square feet.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the development works are part of KMC’s commitment to fulfilling its manifesto and promises to the citizens. Mayor Wahab stated that the aim is to provide essential civic amenities and ensure equitable development across Karachi. He emphasized that these efforts are intended to improve road conditions and facilitate citizen movement, with a focus on quality and durability.
Mayor Wahab further remarked that KMC is broadening the scope of its development initiatives citywide, prioritizing projects where basic civic facilities are lacking. The completed projects in Gulistan-e-Johar are part of this ongoing strategy to enhance civic amenities for residents.
The Mayor reiterated the city’s commitment to accelerating development efforts, utilizing all available resources, and maintaining transparency. He affirmed that the administration is dedicated to fulfilling its commitments and implementing measures to ensure improved infrastructure and a cleaner environment for Karachi’s residents.
