Secretary Housing Punjab Urges Acceleration and Quality in Multan Development Projects


Lahore: On the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Secretary Housing Punjab Noor-ul-Amin Mengal chaired an important meeting to review progress on ongoing development projects in Multan, along with town planning and WASA-related matters. Additional DG MDA Atta-ul-Haq Khokhar briefed the meeting on development projects being executed by the Multan Development Authority (MDA).



According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, Secretary Housing Noor-ul-Amin Mengal directed that implementation of the Multan Master Plan be ensured in all respects. He instructed the Town Planning Wing of MDA to take effective action, in accordance with the law, against unauthorized constructions. Special attention was to be given to the rehabilitation of roads, footpaths, and green belts across the city.



The Secretary emphasized the need to accelerate the pace of work on ongoing development projects, ensuring their timely completion without compromising quality. Officers were directed to remain present in the field to continuously monitor the quality, pace, and progress of ongoing projects.



Managing Director WASA Multan Faisal Shaukat provided a briefing on WASA-related matters and ongoing arrangements. Secretary Housing instructed WASA Multan to ensure all necessary preventive measures in view of the monsoon season, including regular desilting of drains and drainage channels.



Secretary Housing Noor-ul-Amin Mengal reiterated that providing better basic civic facilities to citizens remains the top priority of the Government of Punjab. He underscored the importance of regular monitoring and effective field supervision to maintain both quality and pace, aligning with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif for development projects in Multan to adhere to prescribed standards and timelines.
