Lahore: Provincial Health Secretary Azmat Mahmood inspected the development of the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research in Lahore, emphasizing the Punjab government’s commitment to enhancing cancer care. Mahmood, accompanied by Additional Secretary Technical Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Waseem and other officials, reviewed the construction progress and received a briefing on the project.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the institute represents a significant investment by the Punjab government, with approximately Rs 75 billion allocated for its construction. The facility aims to offer advanced treatment options for level three and level four cancer patients, providing international standard medical care to thousands. Mahmood has instructed the Infrastructure Development Authority of Punjab (IDAP) to ensure the project is completed on schedule, underscoring the urgency and importance of the initiative.
