Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif Vows to Uphold Humanitarian Values in Punjab

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday affirmed her dedication to serving humanity and promoting human dignity and compassion across the province. In her message on World Humanitarian Day, she commended the efforts of relief workers and volunteers aiding those affected by wars and natural disasters, and expressed her gratitude towards doctors, nurses, rescue personnel, and welfare workers engaged in humanitarian efforts.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the Chief Minister called for more efficient delivery of humanitarian assistance worldwide, emphasizing that providing relief is both an act of service and a form of worship. She emphasized that the spirit of serving humanity is beyond color, race, religion, and prejudice, highlighting the selflessness of relief workers who risk their lives in conflict zones.

Ms. Maryam stated that humanitarian workers offer not only food and medical aid but also hope to those in crisis. The core aim of humanitarian assistance, she noted, is to deliver timely and unconditional support to those in need. Citing Pakistan’s long-standing accommodation of Afghan refugees, she described it as a reflection of the nation’s values of humanity and cooperation.

The Chief Minister assured that the Punjab government will continue to support individuals in both peaceful and crisis situations, maintaining the highest standards of humanitarian values. She mentioned ongoing governmental efforts to protect vulnerable groups and create opportunities for them to lead dignified lives.
