National Price Monitoring Committee Takes Measures to Stabilize Essential Commodity Prices

Islamabad, The National Price Monitoring Committee (NPMC) has reviewed the prices of essential commodities and directed relevant authorities to sustain food prices during its latest meeting chaired by Minister for Planning and Development Muhammad Sami Saeed.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, The committee received updates on inflation and was briefed on the satisfactory levels of production and supply of wheat, sugar, and other key items as reported by representatives from Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Balochistan. The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics presented its mobile application designed to monitor prices across the country. The Minister for Planning underscored a zero-tolerance policy for hoarding and profiteering and called upon provincial governments to ensure strict enforcement against such practices through district administrations.
