National Police Academy Set for Major Transformation, Says Interior Minister

Islamabad: The National Police Academy is poised for a significant transformation following a high-level meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The minister announced plans to develop the academy along the lines of the Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul, marking a historic initiative to upgrade the institution with modern facilities.

According to a statement by Press Information Department, the restructuring will include the establishment of an Elite Force Training School and a Technical Training Center. The academy will also see the development of indoor and outdoor firing ranges, along with the expansion and enhancement of the parade ground.

The meeting included a briefing on the academy’s upgrade plan, with directives issued for the priority construction of a residential block for officers in training. The master plan for the project is to be resubmitted with necessary modifications, and the restructuring will proceed in phases.

Interior Minister Naqvi emphasized the goal of transforming the National Police Academy into an institution of international standard, attracting officers from abroad for training. The meeting was attended by Commandant National Police Academy Muhammad Idrees Ahmed, the Chairman of the CDA, the IG Islamabad, the DIG Islamabad, and other officials.
