Islamabad: Pakistan Air Force observed Martyrs’ Day on September 7 across its bases nationwide, honoring the sacrifices of its personnel and paying homage to their dedication to duty.

According to Radio Pakistan, the day began with a special Du’aa and Quran Khawani for the martyrs of the 1965 and 1971 Wars, the fallen of Marka-e-Haq, and all PAF members who have made the ultimate sacrifice since Pakistan’s inception. During a ceremony at Air Headquarters in Islamabad, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu praised the martyrs, emphasizing their role as the foundation of PAF’s legacy of courage and commitment to national defense.

Air Chief Marshal Sidhu noted that the deeds of their predecessors are not just historical chapters but a living legacy that imposes a responsibility on the current generation. He stated that the martyrs are enduring symbols of courage and national resolve, serving as a reminder that defending the homeland is a sacred duty.

The Air Chief laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument, offering prayers in remembrance of the fallen. A related ceremony took place at the mausoleum of Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed in Karachi, where Air Vice Marshal Akhtar Imran Saddozai paid tribute on behalf of the Air Chief. The ceremony honored Minhas’s courage and ultimate sacrifice in defending the nation’s skies.
