Islamabad: The National Assembly was informed today that private medical colleges in the country are not permitted to increase their fees independently. Out of the twenty-two thousand medical college seats available nationwide, 65 percent are in the private sector, while 35 percent are in government institutions.

According to Radio Pakistan, Minister for National Health Services Syed Mustafa Kamal addressed a Calling Attention Notice, noting that complaints regarding private medical colleges are promptly addressed. He clarified that these colleges cannot charge fees exceeding two point one million rupees and are prohibited from unilaterally increasing their fees.

In other matters, the National Assembly passed a resolution urging federal and provincial governments to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAWW) at the highest level. The resolution, presented by Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, called for the illumination and decoration of various buildings and highways to mark the occasion. It also encouraged government, educational, business institutions, and media houses to partake in the celebrations.

The resolution emphasized the promotion of peace, tolerance, and brotherhood, aligning with the teachings of Hazrat Muhammad Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyyin Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. It further expressed the House’s commitment to promoting the Sunnah and teachings of the Prophet and appealed to the nation to observe Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAWW) with solemnity, respect, and unity.

The National Assembly is scheduled to reconvene on Friday at eleven in the morning.
