Mayor Karachi Initiates Rs. 860 Million Development Projects in Federal B Industrial Area

KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab laid the foundation stone for development projects worth Rs. 860 million in Federal B Industrial Area. Members of the City Council, elected representatives, industrialists, and KMC officers were also present on the occasion. According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Mayor Wahab announced that the Sindh government had provided a grant of Rs. 9.5 billion for the industrial areas of Karachi, with Rs. 860 million allocated specifically for Federal B Area Association of Trade and Industry. The commencement of practical work under the development package marks a significant step forward for both industrialists and citizens.

Mayor Wahab highlighted that improving basic infrastructure in industrial areas and providing better facilities to industrialists were among the government’s priorities. He emphasized that these development works would not only promote business and industrial activities but also contribute to Karachi’s economic growth. The mayor stated that collaborative efforts involving elected representatives, industrialists, and local government institutions were underway to enhance Karachi’s infrastructure.

The mayor further announced the allocation of Rs. 7 billion to modernize Karachi’s fire brigade, with plans to upgrade and repair fire tenders. Addressing the water scarcity issue, he noted an alternative water source had been established for industrial areas, with the Industrial Water Park project at Haroonabad Sewerage Baghicha initially making 30 million gallons of water available. The project aims to increase this supply to 100 million gallons, with its inauguration by Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
