Loralai, A District Education Group meeting chaired by Loralai Deputy Commissioner Sajjad Aslam Baloch emphasized the necessity of complete syllabus coverage in schools and strict measures against teacher absenteeism. The meeting, which included key educational officers and representatives of teacher unions, highlighted the urgency of ensuring teacher presence to facilitate effective learning.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Deputy Commissioner Baloch stressed that any negligence in ensuring the attendance of teachers would not be tolerated. The Education Department reported that seven absent teachers have been dismissed, and show cause notices have been issued to six others. Additionally, final notices have been issued to 25 teachers. Baloch directed that deductions from the salaries of absent teachers should be enforced, and the appointment of substitute teachers would not be allowed under any circumstances.
Baloch expressed concern that teacher absenteeism could lead to the destruction of children’s futures and the ineffectiveness of schools. He emphasized the importance of providing religious education alongside scientific studies and stated that habitually absent teachers would face strict consequences. He urged teachers to perform their duties with more enthusiasm to ensure better education for students.
Furthermore, Deputy Commissioner Baloch declared that strict actions are within the jurisdiction of educational authorities and that no concessions would be made regarding absenteeism. He instructed Deputy District Education Officers to report their school visit observations to the DEO in writing and to use funds received under the cluster for the school and children’s best interests.
Baloch also discussed various constructions in schools funded by UNICEF, stressing the need for quality in these works, including toilets. He highlighted the importance of timely removal of old building materials to prevent contamination and difficulties for teachers. The ongoing development process in schools should be completed with speed and quality to avoid disrupting the teaching process.
This meeting signifies a decisive step towards improving education in Loralai by ensuring teacher attendance and enhancing school facilities.
