Islamabad: In a recent meeting between Federal Minister for Law & Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar and British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, the issue of visa processing delays for Pakistani students seeking to study in the United Kingdom was prominently discussed. The meeting aimed to strengthen bilateral relations and address mutual concerns between the two nations.

According to Press Information Department, the Federal Minister conveyed the Government of Pakistan’s concerns about the visa delays, which have been causing significant difficulties for Pakistani students. The students face the risk of losing an academic year due to these delays. Senator Tarar emphasized the importance of removing barriers faced by students pursuing education abroad and highlighted the government’s commitment to facilitating their educational endeavors.

Senator Tarar informed the British High Commissioner that a committee, established under his leadership and directed by the Prime Minister, has been working to improve the legal and institutional framework for Pakistani students studying overseas. The committee has finalized recommendations aimed at addressing the challenges faced by these students.

British High Commissioner Jane Marriott assured the Federal Minister that the concerns regarding visa delays would be addressed. The meeting also covered discussions on enhancing educational linkages and institutional cooperation between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

Minister of State for Law, Justice and Human Rights Barrister Aqeel Malik also attended the meeting, further highlighting the collaborative efforts to resolve the visa issue and strengthen educational ties between the two countries.
