Peshawar, The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) has set an ambitious revenue collection target of 47 billion rupees for the upcoming fiscal year, a significant increase from this year’s achievements. This decision was made during the third policy board meeting held at the Chief Minister’s House under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the meeting also approved the revenue authority’s budget estimates for the new financial year. Key participants included cabinet members Nazir Abbasi, Mian Khaliqur Rehman, Muzamil Aslam, various administrative secretaries, and other board members. The board reviewed the implementation of decisions from its previous meeting and discussed ways to enhance the provincial government’s revenue.
The session highlighted the authority’s performance over the current financial year, with revenues reaching 37 billion rupees, surpassing the target of 35 billion rupees. The meeting also conditionally approved various proposed regulations for the Revenue Authority. Chief Minister Gandapur emphasized the need for increased transparency and efficiency through the use of information and communication technology in tax matters, urging the prioritization of digitization in high-revenue areas and the filling of vacant posts to boost the authority’s efficiency.
