Srinagar, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred a Kashmiri youth in Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, today.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the youth was martyred by the troops during a cordon and search operation in Kalakot area of the district. Earlier, an Indian army Major and a soldier were killed and three personnel of Elite Force were critically injured in an attack in the same area.
Indian police arrested two youth identified as Mumtaz Ahmad Lone and Jahangir Ahmad during a search operation in Bemina area of Srinagar, today.
Meanwhile, the Narendra Modi-led Indian government in its ongoing drive against Kashmiri employees sacked four more government employees, today. The terminated employees include President of Doctors Association Kashmir Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan, Salam Rathar, Abdul Majeed Butt and Farooq Ahmad Mir. The dismissal process was expedited after Modi regime revoked Jammu and Kashmir’s special status in August 2019. So far, the occupation authorities have dismissed hundreds of employees on the charge of being affiliated with the freedom struggle.
On the other hand, leaders of Kashmiri Diaspora at a meeting in Washington have stressed the need for evolving a robust policy to counter the Modi government’s plan to change the demographic character of Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting was hosted by Sardar Zarif Khan, Advisor to the President of Azad Kashmir and presided over by a well-known community leader Shafi Khan. Chairman of World Forum for Peace & Justice Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai addressing the meeting said that the people of the occupied territory were facing an existential threat at the hands of Indian colonialist rulers.
