KARACHI: Special municipal arrangements have been finalized throughout Karachi for the observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, according to Karamullah Waqasi, spokesperson for the Mayor of Karachi and Pakistan People’s Party parliamentary leader in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation. The measures include enhanced cleanliness, lighting, and paving along procession routes to facilitate the participation of devotees in religious activities.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the initiative aims to provide a respectful and organized environment for the celebrations marking the birth of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa. Municipal staff have been tasked with maintaining continuous cleanliness and ensuring the timely removal of waste along key routes. The directive for these arrangements comes from Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, emphasizing the importance of civic facilities during religious gatherings.

In addition to the municipal preparations, the unveiling ceremony of the Martyrs Memorial at Nishter Park took place, attended by Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Mayor Karachi. The ceremony honored the sacrifices of those who lost their lives during the religious occasion, and religious scholars and party representatives were also present.

The Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebrations coincide with the Salam Karachi Festival, part of the Independence celebrations in Karachi. This festival, featuring cultural and recreational activities, aims to raise awareness about Pakistan’s independence struggle and national unity.

Karamullah Waqasi urged citizens to observe these occasions with devotion and national spirit, while cooperating with municipal institutions to maintain a clean and peaceful environment in the city.
