Karachi, In a vibrant move to rejuvenate Karachi’s cultural landscape, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab announced the commencement of the Soul Festival at Beach View Park, Clifton. Following the political tumult that concluded on February 8, the Mayor emphasized the shift towards cultural celebration in the city. In collaboration with the Sindh Government and under the guidance of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between the People’s Party and the populace, fostering an environment free from hatred and prejudice, and steering the city towards continued progress and development.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Mayor Wahab expressed his delight at the festival’s offerings that cater to a diverse audience, anticipating thousands of attendees. The Soul Festival, which is set to span three days, marks a significant effort to highlight Karachi’s rich culture, music, and traditional cuisine, providing a communal space for families to celebrate their heritage. This initiative underscores a broader strategy to enhance the city’s recreational facilities, contributing to the overall splendor of Karachi.
During the festival’s inauguration, Mayor Wahab extended his congratulations to the event organizers for their successful execution last year and for creating an opportunity for citizens to engage in cultural festivities. He also touched upon the impending transition to a Jayala government in Sindh, marking the first time both the Sindh government and KMC will be under the leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party. Mayor Wahab’s vision includes fostering cooperation between the Sindh government and KMC, ensuring an inclusive approach to the city’s development.
The Mayor also issued an invitation to critics, urging them to witness the positive changes and constructive activities taking place in Karachi and the province at large.
