Karachi, A recent statement from the Chief Minister’s Office in Karachi has accused Caretaker Health Minister Dr. Saad Niaz of failing to improve hospital conditions and violating constitutional and legal obligations. This follows a series of surprise visits to various departments by the Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh.
According to Sindh CM House, these visits revealed Dr. Niaz’s inadequacies in enhancing the performance of hospitals. The spokesperson criticized Dr. Niaz for his approach towards significant institutions like the SIUT (Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation). It was also noted that Dr. Niaz repeatedly postponed the health department’s review meeting, allegedly to avoid scrutiny of his performance.
The language and conduct of Dr. Niaz, as described in the statement, were deemed unbecoming of a professional doctor or minister. The spokesperson suggested that Dr. Niaz’s recent statements lacked credibility and were a reaction to being held accountable for his actions. This behavior was portrayed as a clear indication of his annoyance over his perceived failures.
Furthermore, the spokesperson accused Dr. Niaz of appointing a secretary of his choice in the health department, which was seen as a breach of protocol and due process. In contrast, the Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh was portrayed as committed to adhering to the constitution, law, and regulations to improve medical facilities for the public.
This accusation against Dr. Niaz points to a significant conflict within the health administration in Karachi, raising concerns about the impact on healthcare services and governance in the region.
