Jiangsu Province Police Delegation Visits Lahore for Bilateral Cooperation Talks

Lahore, A high-level delegation from the Jiangsu Province Police in China, led by Deputy Director General Mr. Tan Yongsheng, has arrived in Lahore for a five-day visit on the invitation of Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar. The delegation’s visit to the Central Police Office in Lahore aims to enhance security and strategic relations between the Punjab and Jiangsu police officials.

According to Punjab Police, the delegation, which includes several senior officers from the Public Security Department of Jiangsu Province, was warmly received and honored with traditional cultural turbans of Punjab.

During their meeting, the delegation discussed increasing bilateral cooperation in areas of training, security, and technical matters with the Punjab Police. The visit will involve a review of the workings of different units of the Punjab Police and will focus on finalizing matters to enhance mutual cooperation. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar expressed a desire to strengthen collaboration with the Chinese police in various areas, including investigations, operations, training, information technology, and logistics. He emphasized the importance of the Special Protection Unit in ensuring the security of Chinese citizens, investors, and experts in Punjab.

Deputy Director General Tan Yongsheng praised the Punjab Police for their security measures for Chinese experts working on various projects. He committed to continuing technical and logistics support and modern training for the Punjab Police. Additionally, Yongsheng announced that Chinese police experts would train the newly formed Punjab Tourism and Investment Police and commended the increase in women’s representation in key positions within the Punjab Police.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of souvenirs and gifts. The Chinese delegation, accompanied by officials from the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, later visited the Special Branch Punjab Roberts Club headquarters. There, they were briefed about the Special Branch’s role, particularly in securing Chinese nationals in Pakistan. Discussions included enhancing cooperation in information technology and cybersecurity.

The visit also included a stop at the Wagah border, where the Chinese delegation attended the traditional flag parade ceremony and viewed cultural artifacts and monuments of Punjab. The visit signifies a strengthening of ties and increased cooperation between Punjab and Jiangsu Province police forces.
