Islamabad: Prime Minister Stresses Equitable Resource Distribution Across Provinces

Islamabad, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-Ul-Haq Kakar emphasized the federation’s responsibility to ensure equitable distribution of resources among all provinces. He stated this while chairing a meeting focused on power sector reforms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the welfare of families of martyrs of the war on terror.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Kakar highlighted the federal government’s commitment to protecting the rights of people in all provinces, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He directed the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) officials to prioritize the removal of obstacles for net hydel profit payments to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Emphasizing the importance of water reservoirs and hydropower projects, the Prime Minister called for their expedited completion to ensure better irrigation and low-cost, environment-friendly electricity generation.

The Prime Minister received briefings on ongoing hydropower projects and the construction of water reservoirs across the country, with a focus on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was also briefed on the law and order situation in the province. Kakar directed the immediate release of funds allocated for counter-terrorism efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and stressed the timely distribution of the Martyrs Welfare Fund to the families of those martyred in the war on terror, acknowledging their sacrifices as benefactors of the nation.
