Islamabad Police Dolphin Squad Intensifies Operations, Inspects Over 154,000 Motorcycles in Three Months


ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police Dolphin Squad has intensified its crackdown on criminal activities, inspecting more than 154,000 motorcycles in the first quarter of 2026, in an effort to bolster public safety and respond effectively to emergencies.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operations were carried out under the directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, with the Dolphin Squad serving as a critical component in the city’s crime prevention strategy. Over the three-month period, the squad conducted rigorous checks, inspecting over 64,000 vehicles and arresting 25 individuals deemed suspicious, including 20 robbers and snatchers, as well as 45 Afghan nationals.



The operations also led to the recovery of drugs, illegal weapons, and ammunition from criminal possession. Additionally, 160 vehicles and 2,036 motorcycles were impounded for further verification. The squad successfully recovered 10 stolen vehicles and 65 motorcycles during this period.



In its patrol duties across various zones of Islamabad, the Dolphin Squad verified the records of 195,132 individuals using the EPP app. They also enforced actions against 1,764 vehicles with tinted windows, in a bid to ensure law compliance without discrimination.



SP Dolphin, Awais Ali Khan, urged zonal officers to intensify the crackdown against criminal elements, emphasizing the priority of safeguarding citizens’ lives and properties. He highlighted the importance of a comprehensive strategy to eliminate criminal activities, warning that negligence in these efforts would not be tolerated.
