Islamabad, In a significant move to combat crime in the city, the Islamabad Capital Police have arrested 14 outlaws, including seven professional beggars, in the last 24 hours. The operation also led to the recovery of drugs and weapons.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests are part of a larger crackdown directed by the Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan. The operation aims to eliminate criminal activities in Islamabad and ensure the safety and security of its residents.
The police teams from various sectors of the city conducted targeted operations resulting in these arrests. The Golra police team apprehended Tanveer Abbas, recovering 15 liters of alcohol. In another instance, the Sangjani police team arrested Muhammad Faizan and Umair Shoukat for illegal gas cylinder refilling.
The Khanna police team successfully captured Muhammad Aqib and Noman Ilyas, finding 410 grams of heroin and a 30 bore pistol. Muhammad Sarwar was detained by the Humak police with 519 grams of heroin, while the Bhara Kahu police arrested Muhammad Hassan, seizing 510 grams of hashish.
The crackdown also targeted professional begging, leading to the arrest of seven individuals involved in this activity. The ICCPO has emphasized the need for continued and rigorous actions against criminal elements, underscoring that citizen safety is a top priority. He has directed the police officials to intensify efforts and maintain strict vigilance to uphold law and order in the city.
Cases against the arrested individuals have been registered, and investigations are underway to uncover further details and possibly larger networks involved in these illegal activities.
