Islamabad Minister Advocates for Strengthened Pak-Poland Economic Ties

Islamabad, Murtaza Solangi, the Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, and Parliamentary Affairs, has called for the expansion of Pakistan-Poland relations, particularly in the realms of trade, economic, and investment sectors. His remarks were made during his role as Chief Guest at a ceremony in Islamabad, commemorating Poland’s Independence and Armed Forces Day.

According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Solangi noted the substantial bilateral trade volume of 899 million dollars last year between the two countries. He stressed the importance of concerted efforts to enhance this economic partnership further.

The Minister referenced recent agreements and Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) between Pakistan and Poland as evidence of their mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation. He particularly highlighted the recent agreement to waive visa requirements for diplomatic passport holders, underscoring the significance of fostering people-to-people and cultural ties.

Acknowledging the contributions of the Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG) in Pakistan, Solangi expressed hopes for the expansion of its operations within the country. He pointed out investment opportunities in sectors like mining, information technology, energy, agriculture, and defense production, and encouraged Polish investors to take advantage of these prospects.

On the occasion of Poland’s National Day, the Information Minister extended warm congratulations from the government and people of Pakistan to their Polish counterparts. He emphasized the strength and depth of the bilateral relations, praising the ongoing cooperation at various levels and the pivotal role played by the Embassy of Poland in Islamabad in fortifying these ties.

This event and the Minister’s statements highlight the ongoing efforts to deepen the economic and cultural relationship between Pakistan and Poland, signaling a promising future for bilateral cooperation.
