Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has commended the resilience and sacrifices of its leaders and the people of Kashmir, stating that India’s attempts to alter the disputed status of Kashmir through misinformation and oppressive measures are bound to fail.
In a statement to Kashmir Media Service, Abdul Rashid Minhas, spokesperson for the APHC, highlighted the historical sacrifices of the Kashmiri people in their struggle for freedom from what they term as India’s illegal occupation. He underscored that these sacrifices have ensured the Kashmir dispute remains a topic of international concern.
Minhas paid tribute to leaders such as Masarrat Alam Bhat and Shabbir Ahmad Shah, who have been imprisoned in Indian jails, asserting that India’s tactics have not weakened their determination. He dismissed recent statements from Indian Home Minister Amit Shah as ineffective against the resolve of freedom-seeking Kashmiris.
The spokesperson accused the BJP-led Indian government and its ideological backer, the RSS, of pursuing policies that are pushing the region toward devastation. He urged the global community to recognize the dangers posed by these agendas.
Minhas reaffirmed that the Kashmiris are conscious of India’s strategies and will continue their struggle for freedom until the dispute is resolved according to United Nations resolutions. He criticized India’s actions in Kashmir, including raids and detentions, as futile efforts that will not deter the Kashmiri spirit.
He emphasized India’s growing frustration and described its actions in Kashmir as desperate attempts to maintain control. Despite decades of conflict, Minhas noted that India has not succeeded in subduing the Kashmiri people.
Minhas called for meaningful negotiations involving India, Pakistan, and representatives of Jammu and Kashmir to achieve a peaceful resolution. He condemned efforts to tarnish the image of the Hurriyat and reaffirmed the commitment to their cause.
The spokesperson denounced Indian authorities for restricting religious activities in Srinagar and criticized the seizure of properties belonging to Hurriyat leaders. He urged the international community to hold India accountable for its actions and emphasized that peace in South Asia hinges on resolving the Kashmir dispute.
