Islamabad, Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, the Imam-e-Kaaba, visited the new campus of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI). During his visit, he was accompanied by IIUI President, Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, who briefed him on the university’s male and female campuses, faculties, and facilities. The Imam-e-Kaaba also inspected the site for the planned King Salman bin Abdul Aziz grand mosque at the campus.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the proposed mosque, costing around 32 million dollars, will have a significant capacity to accommodate worshippers. The inner hall will hold up to 4000 males and 2000 females, with an additional capacity for 6000 people in the yard. The mosque’s design also includes a library and a museum, as well as a Muhammad bin Salman Auditorium for conferences.
