Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi conducted a thorough review of the ongoing development and upgradation projects at Special Initiative Police Stations (SIPS), emphasizing the need for timely completion and quality infrastructure. The review meeting, attended by key police officials, focused on enhancing citizen facilities and crime prevention strategies.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting was chaired by IGP Rizvi, with the presence of DIG Headquarters Muhammad Ateeq Tahir, DG Safe City Muhammad Haroon Joiya, and other senior officers. The discussions covered the progress of various projects and the current stage of their completion. Officers provided updates on the facilities being provided to citizens and the standards of ongoing construction work.
IGP Rizvi instructed the officers to uphold high construction standards and ensure the timely completion of projects. He emphasized the need for a modern, secure, and citizen-friendly environment in police stations, with improvements to be made to front desks, waiting areas, and other public facilities. Regular reviews of ongoing development work were mandated, with immediate actions required in cases of delay or negligence.
In a subsequent meeting with senior police officials, including DG Safe City Muhammad Haroon Joiya and SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza, IGP Rizvi reviewed operational and investigative matters. Discussions included the progress on cases, crime prevention efforts, and overall police performance. The IGP stressed the importance of resolving serious crime cases promptly and utilizing modern investigative techniques and technology to ensure transparency and evidence-based investigations.
He also ordered intensified action against proclaimed offenders, increased surveillance of crime hotspots, and enhanced police patrolling. IGP Rizvi reiterated that protecting citizens’ lives and property, crime prevention, and swift justice provision are top priorities for Islamabad Police. Officers were urged to perform their duties with professionalism, integrity, and responsibility, utilizing available resources to boost police performance.
