ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi convened a pivotal meeting at the Central Police Office, focusing on crime control and public facilitation measures. The session, attended by senior police officials including DIG Operations, DIG Headquarters, and zonal SPs, underscored the importance of enhancing police performance and community relations.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting included a comprehensive review of the city’s crime situation, security protocols, and progress on ongoing investigations. The IGP emphasized the need for transparency and timely responses, directing indiscriminate crackdowns on serious crimes such as robbery, theft, and drug trafficking. Special teams were instructed to ensure the arrest of proclaimed offenders.
Further directives were issued to improve police station operations, including courteous interactions with the public, efficient complaint handling, and merit-based actions. The IGP stressed the necessity of effective patrolling, identifying crime hotspots, and utilizing modern technology for surveillance and monitoring.
The meeting also addressed development projects and welfare measures for police personnel. The IGP called for the completion of projects within set timelines, ensuring no compromise on quality, and maintaining resource transparency. Additionally, improvements in police welfare, housing, and duty hours were prioritized, alongside enhancing facilities at police stations for women, senior citizens, and special persons.
In a subsequent visit to the Police Lines Headquarters, the IGP inspected security arrangements and engaged with citizens to gather feedback. He urged officers to resolve public complaints promptly and foster trust through professional conduct.
