Karachi, The Inspector General of Sindh Police, Ghulam Nabi Memon, has directed the advertisement and recruitment of 1200 data entry operators for the IT department to improve data management and enhance policing effectiveness through technology. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to digitize crime data and integrate modern technology into crime fighting efforts across the region.
According to Sindh Police, the directive was issued during a meeting focused on the Police Station Record Management System (PSRMS) for the Sukkur and Larkana Divisions, held at the Central Police Office in Karachi. The meeting, which also connected district SSPs and division DIGs via video link, reviewed various aspects of data entry and management pertaining to crime and criminal tracking.
IG Memon emphasized the significance of this initiative, the first of its kind for PSRMS, aimed at making the movement and activities of accused individuals more traceable and restricted. He highlighted the potential of technologies such as the S4, Safe City Project, and Talaash App to strengthen the police’s grip on crime.
Furthermore, IG Memon outlined additional measures to enhance police effectiveness, including the regular training of investigative officers and the weekly organization of orderly rooms by district officers to boost morale and organization within the force. He also stressed the importance of meticulous fact registration in murder cases and a coordinated strategy against drug mafias to foster a secure environment and deter crime.
