IG Punjab Allocates Over a Million Rupees for Treatment of Injured Ghazi Officials

Lahore, 11 Oct 2023:Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has sanctioned over one million rupees for the medical treatment of Ghazi officials injured while performing their duties, as per a press release issued by Punjab Police. In a meeting conducted at the Central Police Office by the Companion Award Committee upon the direction of the IG, funds were approved to cater to the medical expenses of police officials from several districts, including Lahore. Notably, various amounts have been distributed among specific individuals: Nankana Police Ghazi Driver Constable Sajjad Ahmed received 03 lakh rupees, Ghazi Constable Abdul Latif of Sialkot police was allotted two and a half lakh rupees, and Ghazi Constables Riasat Ali and Muhammad Boota were designated 02 lakh rupees each. Additionally, Ghazi Constable Zafar Mehdi was given 01 lakh rupees for medical purposes.

The monetary allocation underscores a tangible commitment to the wellbeing of the police force members who have been wounded in the line of duty. Dr. Usman Anwar has instructed to sustain efforts for providing optimal healthcare to the Ghazi officers and emphasized that the prompt recovery of these personnel remains a top priority. He further elucidated that comprehensive support from the department will persist in facilitating their treatments and rehabilitation.

Moreover, Dr. Usman Anwar articulated that silver medals will be awarded to the Ghazi personnel and their names will be inscribed on the Ghazi wall at the Central Police Office, signifying a memorial and honour for their sacrifices. The Compensation Award Committee meeting was presided over by Additional IG Finance and Welfare Muhammad Riaz Nazir Gara, with DIG Welfare Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin partaking as Secretary. DIG Establishment Dr. Inam Waheed Khan and DIG Headquarters Humayun Bashir Tarar also participated as members, ensuring collaborative decision-making regarding the financial support and future honours for the injured officials.
