Lahore: Under the leadership of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, the Punjab Police has significantly ramped up its welfare initiatives for police employees and their families, with an expenditure of 1.53 billion rupees in the first seven months of the year on various welfare programs.

According to Punjab Police, these initiatives cover a wide range of benefits, including educational scholarships, medical assistance, and support for family occasions. Specifically, the department has allocated 553 million rupees for educational scholarships for the children of police employees. In addition, 180 million rupees have been provided for medical assistance, and 390 million rupees have been distributed as wedding gifts for the daughters of police personnel. The force has also allocated funds for funeral expenses, farewell grants, maintenance allowances, and the construction of homes for the families of police martyrs, totaling over 443.5 million rupees.
