ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Ethiopia are poised to bolster cooperation in the fields of agriculture and livestock development, as announced by Rana Tanveer Hussain, Pakistan’s Minister for National Food Security. Discussions held in Islamabad with Dr. Oumer Hussein Oba, the Ethiopian Ambassador to Pakistan, highlighted the potential for collaboration in areas such as agricultural research, seed development, and climate-resilient agriculture.
According to Radio Pakistan, Minister Hussain emphasized the prospects for promoting Pakistani agricultural machinery, tractors, and irrigation technology in Ethiopia. The minister also underlined the importance of strengthening bilateral agricultural trade by improving market access through better coordination on sanitary and phytosanitary standards. He expressed that fostering business-to-business linkages and joint ventures could serve as a practical approach to expanding trade and investment between Pakistan and Ethiopia.
