Prime Minister Orders Immediate Action to Lower Fuel Prices

Karachi: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed the Minister for Petroleum, Ali Pervaiz Malik, to take immediate actions to provide relief in fuel prices, emphasizing the need to negotiate with oil refineries to reduce the prices of locally produced diesel.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister met with the Petroleum Minister in Islamabad, where he stressed the urgency of the situation and instructed him to travel to Karachi to engage directly with oil refineries. The meeting also included Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister for Climate Change Dr. Musadik Malik, and Member of National Assembly Hamza Shehbaz.

The Prime Minister highlighted that the majority of diesel is produced locally and urged the Petroleum Minister to finalize negotiations with refineries promptly. The goal is to secure a reduction in prices and provide immediate relief to consumers.
