Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has underscored the importance of effective coordination between the federal and provincial governments to promote peace, development, and public welfare in Balochistan. In a meeting with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti in Islamabad, the President highlighted the need for special attention and resources for the province, which is Pakistan’s largest by area.
According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari stated that attempts by foreign-backed terrorists to hinder Balochistan’s development would be thwarted. He expressed optimism that the region would soon be free from terrorism. During the meeting, the President was briefed on the current situation in Balochistan and the development projects underway in the province.
