LAHORE, In a recent initiative for the welfare of the police force, Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has released an additional 15 lakh rupees for the medical expenses of five police officials serving in various districts. This allocation is part of ongoing efforts to support the health and wellbeing of police personnel in Punjab.
According to Punjab Police, the funds were distributed to several officials for various medical needs. Traffic warden Muhammad Irfan received 05 lakh rupees for burn injury treatment, while PHP Constable Muhammad Khalid was given Rs. 05 lakh for an artificial leg. Constable Khurram Ali Shah received Rs. 03 lakh for medical expenses, and Lahore police constable Khalid Hussain was allocated 01 lakh rupees for treatment. Additionally, Nankana police Constable Tanveer Anjum received Rs. 01 lakh for lung treatment.
The decision to release these funds was based on the recommendations of the Compensation Award Committee, chaired by Additional IG Finance and Welfare Mohammad Riaz Nazir Gara. Following the committee’s evaluation, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar ordered the release of the funds and emphasized the importance of continuous measures for the welfare and treatment of the police force. He asserted that any official facing medical issues or their family members should not be left unsupported.
