IG Islamabad Honors Retired SP Israr Ahmad Arain, Holds Public Forum at Police Office

Islamabad: In a formal meeting, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, paid tribute to retired Superintendent of Police (SP) Israr Ahmad Arain for his extensive service to the Islamabad Police. The meeting, which took place at the Central Police Office, highlighted Arain’s valuable contributions to both the citizens of Islamabad and the police department.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the IGP acknowledged SP Arain’s dedicated service by presenting him with a commemorative shield as a token of appreciation. This gesture was part of a broader initiative to recognize the efforts of police officers who have served the community with distinction.

In addition to the tribute, IGP Rizvi conducted a ‘khuli katchery’, an open forum at the Central Police Office, where he engaged directly with citizens and police officers to address their concerns. He emphasized the importance of resolving issues on merit and assured attendees that negligence in duties would not be tolerated. Rizvi encouraged citizens facing police-related issues to attend these forums, reiterating that his office remains open to the public.

During the event, the IGP issued directives to senior police officers to address grievances within a stipulated timeframe and to report back to the Central Police Office. All Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) were instructed to adhere to office hours and prioritize citizen issues. Rizvi noted that the daily holding of such forums is part of the Islamabad Police’s efforts to facilitate citizens efficiently.
